English Courses for Adults


If you are a student, an employee or an employer, looking for a job, a retiree or a home maker, there is an English course for you at MILI. Based on your needs or interest to learn or improve your English communication skills, you can choose from a variety of English courses that best fit your time and budget. Classes open up once we have 3 enrolled students and close once we reach a maximun of 8 students.  The strategic choice of putting together small classes helps create the best learning environment for our students and an ideal condition for our teachers. At MILI we create small groups to obtain big results! 

Our English courses, as well as all our couses in other languages, follow the Commmon European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) developed in 2001 by European Commission for language learning. 

In our English language program, we have a number of English courses to facilitate your learning objectives:

 

Intensive English courses: this English course is our recommended option for individuals looking to rapidly improve their language skills and who have availability in the morning during the week.  This formula includes 20 lessons per week Monday thru Friday from 9am to noon. This class puts special focus on enhancing the oral communication skills of the students through the use of role plays, videos, interviews, speakers, games and the use of the internet.

Semi-Intensive English courses:this English course is our recommended option for individuals looking to rapidly improve their language skills but whose availability is limited in the morning.  This formula includes 10 lessons per week from 6pm to 8pm Monday thru Wednesday and 6pm to 7:30pm on Thursday.  This formula is only offered on the first week of each month.

Standard English courses: this English class meets once a week for 2 hours.  This English course puts special focus on enhancing the oral and written communication skills of the students through the use of role plays, videos, interviews, speakers, games and the use of the internet.

Standard-Plus English courses: this English class meets twice a week for 1,5 hours each time (3 hours per week total).  This English course puts special focus on enhancing the oral and written communication skills of the students through the use of role plays, videos, interviews, speakers, games and the use of the internet.

English conversation: a session of 2 hours per week of speaking activities in groups of no more than 8 students guided by a native English professor. Emphasis is place on delivery, vocabulary and a fluid interaction between the class members.  Students must have at least a B1 level to attend this English conversation class.

Private English courses: an ideal option for students looking for a customized learning program with fast results at flexible times. MILI will build a customized program based on your level and your professional or academic objectives just for you.  We can guarantee you that you will advance at a fast pace with this language formula.  .  

Semi-private English courses: an ideal option for students looking for a customized English language program at an economical rate.MILI offers semi-private classes for 2-3 people in packages of 5 or more hours. MILI will builds a customized program based on the level and invidual objectives of each students.  We can guarantee you that you will advance at a fast pace with this language formula. 

TOEIC/TOEFL exam preparation: you have the choice between a 20 hours or 30 hours course to prepare you for the TOEIC Professional English exam or the TOEFL English exam to enter a university in an anglophone country. Call us for more information

Methodology:

  1. Use of the communicative approach working on morphological, grammatical and lexical skills (oral communication) immersed in the daily activities typical of the Anglophone culture
  2. Action-oriented approach that constantly works toward helping students play a role while learning.  At MILI you don't just sit at your desk during our classes.  You move, you play, you speak and have tons of fun learning
  3. Small classes of up to 8 students for the teacher and students to create real group dynamics where all players get to use and share their own personal experiences to ensure deeper learning
  4. Full integration of technology in the classroom to leverage the latest online tools to enhance the learning experience
  5. Integration of music, theater, games and the internet to make your learning experience fun and interactive

Teaching Materials:

  1. English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) and textbooks selected by our talented language pedagogy team
  2. Authentic documents, audio and video podcasts, internet, short films and songs, the press, newspapers, magazines, literature, etc. All with the help of iPads in class for all students and teachers
  3. All materials cover the 6 learning levels from the CEFR (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) with each of them mastering and practicing language skills (oral and written), grammar, expression and cultural aspects of English speaking countries. Manuals are divided into units that each corresponds to approximately a week of learning. Students who successfully complete a unit will then move on to the next for another week of training 

 Evaluations:

  1. All of our language program students are instructed to take an online test upon enrollment. This test will help us place you in the most suitable class based on your language proficiency level and learning objectives
  2. An individual interview and quick evaluation will be performed by one of our qualified teachers on your first day at MILI to verify that you are in the the right level group
  3. At the end of each week, our teachers will provide each students a progress report and areas requiring special attention. We are your biggest cheerleaders and we will go the extra mile to help you achieve your learning objectives

 Certificate:

A certificate indicating the level and the duration of the selected course attended is delivered upon completion at the end of your training program at MILI
